What is Eastern Partnership Investment Forum

Eastern Partnership Investment Forum is an initiative of CEGE to promote Eastern European region as an investment destination.

1st Eastern Partnership Forum, dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of Eastern Partnership Program of the EU, was co-organized together with the EU Commission. The forum was hosted by the government of Georgia in Batumi, Georgia on 10-11 July 2019.

The forum addressed the impact of the Eastern Partnership Program on the investment environments of the six partner countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) after ten years of its implementation, with the primary focus to promote European investments into the EaP countries in four key sectors: infrastructure, energy, manufacturing and agriculture.

In 2019 the six countries jointly represented 75 million population and 200 billion Euros economy. The European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development had portfolios with more than 1300 projects worth of 33 billion Euros in the EaP countries. High-level government delegations from EaP Countries, EU officials, as well as business leaders, business organizations, international organizations, donors, international financial institutions and media, both from the EaP countries and the EU Member States, participated in the forum.

The forum provided an opportunity for more than 400 participants to meet with the government and private sector representatives as well as the financial institutions and to discuss investment opportunities in the priority sectors in G2B and B2B formats organized on the margins of the Forum. The discussions at the forum were supported by the background material – The First Eastern Partnership Investment Catalogue and The EaP Country Investment Briefs – prepared by CEGE.
